The Gathering

The Gathering 2007 is a Microsoft run XCN event, with several webmasters and developers present. (- SanSambal.) Peter Molyneux was in attendance, and being his usual charismatic self there’s quite a lot of coverage of what he said about Fable 2. There’s videos: part 1 and part 2 from SamVT81, as well as a whole bunch of coverage from various XCN members (through Lionhead). Peter Molyneux talked about a lot of different things and it’s well worth looking at.

Game Career Fair

Lionhead will be at the London Game Career Fair, October 23rd - 24th. From Gamasutra.

The event, building on the success of the inaugural fair last year, features a mix of exhibitors and sessions, giving both existing members of the industry and those looking to break into the industry a chance to meet with companies and learn from experienced industry speakers. The London Game Career Fair is the exclusive recruitment event of the London Games Festival, a series of events taking place across the city during the week of October 22.

Molyneux impressed by Halo 3 drama

From USAToday:

Halo does “what a truly good book or film or TV show does,” says Peter Molyneux, a pioneering game developer (Populous, Black & White) and founder of Lionhead Studios, which like Bungie was acquired by Microsoft. “Halo delivers it in a way that more than ever before is emotionally engaging. In our industry, Halo represents pretty much the top of the game of what we are able to do with our dramatic content.”

Creative guys

CVG have an interview with Peter Molyneux about some stuff. He’s one of the four creative minds on the planet.

… we find out how the Lionhead boss has adjusted to life under the Xbox banner, his memories and regrets from the earlier days and just what it’s like working on the Xbox 360’s flasgship title of 2008.

Canaljuegos also want to know things

Canaljuegos got an interview with Molyneux around the time of the 10-year anniversary and has published it just now. I’m unsure how much clearer Molyneux could be about online stuff without actually announcing it; the Secret Game has still not turned into Dimitri or BC and, he says, Microsoft is awesome. Worth reading.

5Qs with hinting answers

1up asked Molyneux after his GCDC-noshow some questions and Molyneux has not lost his ability to tantalise. There’s mentions of magic (”surround, buffing, destructive, physical”), Peter says dogs and combat are not the most awesome parts, and asked about online he “can’t comment about my favourite feature!” [Cheers Stomp & Portarock!]
